Hoi Hup Realty secures go-ahead for High Holborn redevelopment

Singapore-based real estate developer Hoi Hup Realty has already gotten the clearance from the City of London Corporation for ‘High Holborn’, a significant office-led redevelopment project, according to a June 18 release.

The project works on the regeneration of a 1.4-acre island site consisting of three structures at 322 High Holborn, Holborn Gate and 44 Southampton Buildings.

The redevelopment, guided by construction and property consultancy Gleeds, Make Architects, subleasing advisors Savills and planning consultants Newmark, is assumed to provide over 370,000 sq ft of brand-new Grade An office. Developed for modern occupiers, the building is also set to include a new cultural venue, the ‘Holborn Dome’, along with a public pocket park at Southampton Buildings and enhanced ground-floor services and permeability.

“This is specifically the sort of plan we want to see even more of in the Square Mile– best-in-class office space that helps keep London internationally competitive while likewise providing public areas that many people can savor,” adds Tom Sleigh, director of the City of London Planning and Transportation Committee.

The revitalised location is going to even include flexible floorplates, health spaces and patios. The property development is targeting BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ and EPC ‘A’ ratings, adhering to the deployment of smart systems and low-carbon products all over the site.
